After telling the dwarfs my sad story, I was invited to stay in their house. I was very happy in the first few months. Everyday I tidied up the house and prepared dinner for them.

The lovely dwarfs were very pleased to live with me because they loved listening to my stories before bed time every night.

During these few months, I made many new friends such as the kind doers, the cute monkeys and the little birds. We went on a picnic every week; we always sang songs and danced in the forest.

But after one year, I was discovered by my cruel stepmother’s servant, Jane when she went hunting with her husband in the forest. She wanted to get reward from my rich stepmother so she told her where I was. My stepmother was very angry when she knew I was still alive and she made Jane to kill me immediately.

Jane was afraid and she did not know what to do. She asked her son, Peter for help. Peter was a brave and kind young man. He was irritated with what my stepmother did. He wanted to teach my cruel stepmother a lesson.

Peter pretended an old man and went to the forest. He arrived at the dwarf’s house and told me that he was lost in the forest. I told him the way to leave the forest and he thanked me by giving me a big red apple. After eating the sweet apple, I was fainted.

Peter brought me back to the palace and told my stepmother that I was killed. My stepmother was very happy and gave Peter a lot of money. Suddenly, my father rushed into the room and told the soldier to send my stepmother into prison.

I woke up after a while. Peter did not kill me, he saved me instead. He had told my father the truth before went to the forest. My father promised Peter that we could get married if he saved me.

After two months, I was married to Peter. We did not live in the palace; we lived in the forest with the lovely dwarfs.

A man found a cocoon for a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared, he sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through the little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and could go no farther. Then the man decided to help the butterfly.

He took a pair of scissors and snipped the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily. Something was strange. The butterfly had a swollen body and shriveled wings. The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time. Neither happened. In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and deformed wings. It was never able to fly.

What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand, was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the smallopening of the cocoon are God`s way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon. Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life.

If God allowed us to go throughall our life without any obstacles,
that would cripple us.
We would not be as strong as what we could have been.
Not only that, we could never fly.
