So are Macs stable or not?

Some people say that they crash and freeze all the time, and others say that they are super-stable because they're UNIX based. Where is the truth?

Windows XP can be a very stable system if you only install tested and certified software on it. For example don't install aim, yahoo messenger, skype, snood and other games which may overwrite the original files. Also the use of internet will cause lockups and problems.

Macs tend not to lock up, but I will sadly admit that trying to learn the new OSX I did get the pinwheel of death a few times in the first day. Less then excited, but as I learned what not to do it did seem to recover from problems better.

It's just a machine, and there is no such thing called perfection. It all depends on how you use it.
