From IT to Finance/Investment

Hi everyone,

I am an IT degree holder (2nd upper hounours from the UK) and working as technical support for 1 year now. I feel really depressed with this industry and has no interest in IT at all. Now I find I am interested in Finance/investment field and would like to jump from IT to this area. What should I do? Should I do a master of finance or just sit for CFA? Or anything else? Please advise. Thanks very much.

If you don't mind to start from the begining, you can just jump to an investment firm or investment department of a bank. If you want to start with a degree (while it doesn't mean you can start at a high position), I may suggest you to get a MBA (major in Finance) then you can start your career in finance.

then you can only restart from a junior position in a small finance firm, and at the same time, you start your studying either on a degree or CFA relavent materials. While you gain your professional qualification in finance, you can promote to be a senior position hopefully.

I suggest to get CFA before you jump to finance/investment field, CFA is a professional qualification that is more important than a master degree.
