I live in Taipo and there are many roads in the neighourhood. Beside these roads there are skyscrapers and the density of these buildings are so high they block the wind that could have dispersed the pollutants in the air.
When vehicles release their exhausts, the pollutants are trapped between the buildings and it intensifies the air pollution problem.
The road beneath my home is occupied by hawkers who are practically blocking the passageway. At the same time the heavy traffic makes the road even more crowded. Hawkers using loudspeakers to promote their sales, plus the heavy traffic, create excessive noise. Noise that are over the limit could damage our hearing and could make people feel tense. The tension reduced the efficiency of our work and study, and in some cases might even induce mental problems.

Air pollution could cause respiratory diesease, conjuntivitis, coughs and could create acid rain which is harmful to the environment.
I would suggest the government to impose regulations regarding pollution control. Noise barrier should be built on highways or freeways that are close to rsidential areas. With regard to air pollution control, laws enforcing drivers to turn the engines off when stopping should be passed. The government should also advise citizens to cut back on driving and to take public transport instead.
