當然可以。桌上電腦沒有PCMCIA，所以可以選用USB 或 PCI 咭的上網器。要注意是今天多數USB上網器都要用USB2.0，所以假如你用的是舊機，你能用PCI咭好一點。可以安裝會比較因難。

安裝WiFi上網器一般都要先行了它自行附上的CD裝好了程式才把USB接上，WinXP 或 2000 年自動裝上Driver。裝好後根據 Router 的設定更新上網器的設定便可以了。方法通常可以在Router的說明書中找到。

1) a boardband subscription (Netvigator, i-cable, etc)
2) a Wifi router, just connect it to the ADSL modem (Netvigator) or cable modem (i-cable)
3) Setup the router, the best way is to connect your computer to the router with a cable and launch the web browser (usually the IP is 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1), key-in username & password for PPPoE
4) To access the Wifi, you need a Wifi adaptor for each PC. For desktop PC, you can buy a USB Wifi adaptor (HK$150~300). You need no special software / driver setup if your PC runs XP.
5) You shall then set an WEP/WAP encryption (a pass-code) in both the router, and your PCs, so that other people cannot hack-in your network.
