1.Recently, a good friend of yours confided in you saying that she was pregnant. She had told her parents about it, and they asked her to either marry the boy and raise the baby, or to give the baby up for adoption if she didn’t want to marry the boy. Your friend doesn’t want to do either of the two, as she doesn’t love the boy and does not want to marry him; instead she wants to have an abortion and continue studying. Write a letter to her advising her on what her options are and what can she do. Explain the consequences of each option.

2.Very often, we see people behaving or doing something in a way that disgusts us. Describe three bad manners that you have seen in public that annoy or disgust you.

3.Over the last few years, Hong Kong’s country parks have been getting a new look. Railings have been installed and trials and pathways have been concretized. There have been letters from Hong Kong residents in the newspapers expressing their unhappiness. The residents emphasize that this destroys the natural beauty of the country parks and are both ugly and unnecessary. What are your views on this? Discuss.
