It depends on the company. Some know that workers do it and are very lax about it unless they are not completing their work. If you have an employee handbook/manual, it should be in there if you work in an office setting or similar where you are supposed to be using a computer anyhow for work. Most manuals say employees are not allowed to use them, but it depends how independant your boss lets you be.

At my work yes we are allowed to use hte computer for personal use. I work for a school as a bus driver and they have an old computer available for us to check our email. We can surf the web or type up papers if we need too. I have never used it for any work related paper work. I use my own computer for that because it is just more convient and I have a better computer than what they provide for us.

Depends on the company and the boss. Some allow limited usage. Others do not.

I would think not. In your question, you called it the WORK computer. If it wasn't needed for your job, it wouldn't be there. If you were hired to play on the computer, that's one thing, but if the use of a computer is required for the job you were hired for, it's not there for your entertainment!
