In ZnCO3(s) + H2SO4(aq)...

ZnCO3(s) + H2SO4(aq)-----> ZnSO4(aq) + H2O(l) + CO2(g)
CO3 react with water to form HCO3+ and OH-?
Can you offer explanation about how and why do the reaction occur?

ZnCO3 is insoluble, so interaction with water.

H+ from H2SO4 attack CO3 2- since H+ stick to O atom in CO3 2- since O is high in electronegativity. When H+ combine with CO3 2-, the overall charges of the ion change and HCO3- is soluble in water. Then another H+ react with HCO3- to give H2O and CO2.
