rite click desktop> display setting> monitor> battery monitor( something like that).

there should be options like[when i close the sreen>computer do wht] [when i press power button> computer do wht]
u must ve been choose [when i close the sreen> computer shut down/ sleep mode], choose do nothing, then should solve ur problem.
