A 1 kg mass is suspended by the light spring balance is held with a hand.
Find the reading on the spring balance if

(a) the hand remains stationary
(b) the hand moves upward with an acceleration of 5ms^-2
(c) the hand moves upward with a deceleration of 5 ms^-2
(d) the hands moves downward with an acceleration of 5 ms^-2
(e) the spring balance and the mass fall freely under gravity.

a) F= mg = 1 * 10
=10 N
b)F-ma = mg
F = m( a+ g)
= 1 (5 + 10)
= 15N
c)F+ma = mg
= 1 (10 - 5)
= 5N
d)F +ma = mg
= 1 (10 - 5)
= 5N
e) 0 N
