At least people are trying their best to deternine the most correct pronounciation. And of course for TV stations this is a MUST and has to be a no-miss.
I'd say, if you pronounce 烤, 溝 or 'how' it's like reading SAWASHIRI (澤尻) instead of SAWAJIRI (澤尻), which is still acceptable.
But if you pronounce 鳩 (the bad one, got my drift?), well, it's like reading SAWAKETSU (沢ケツ=澤尻) which is derogatory
