If you use Windows Media Center, there's a nice advanced tool called DVRMSToolbox (http://bluwiki.com/go/DVRMSToolbox_User_Guide ).Otherwise, there is ShowAnalyzer ( http://www.dragonglobal.org/ ) which costs license fee and there is ComSkip ( http://www.kaashoek.com/comskip/ ) which is free but slower.
