"Call the police" is 打電話報警
"DIAL 999" (DIAL not DAIL) is 打999号

報警可以用"Report to the police" or "Notify the police"

"Call the police" is better because the emergency number is 999 only in Hong Kong.

如果你在所住的居所升降機大堂有一張是你家居附近的警察局的防止罪案的通告，若有那個警察局的電話，你便不一定要打999才可找警察了，直接打到那警察局便可以．
