以上是典型的 class nerd 例子，都是戴了深近視眼鏡，唔靚仔，唔型，好騎呢，兼自閉，唔識社交，雖然讀書叻。 中文是班裏的書蟲，但英文則多了上面那些貶意。如果一個人靚仔，讀書叻，便是高材生，genius, outstanding, 不是 NERD。

NERD 是形容樣衰自閉多過讀書叻的，如果樣衰兼讀書唔叻便是 LOSER。

還有個字，更流行，是 GEEK，指那些樣子差自閉但是電腦天才的。
