You know why 2nd-hand piano is not popular in Hong Kong. This is because there are so many unethical traders. A friend of mine was just cheated by a dishonest piano trader who sold a so-called displayed tall Yamaha piano for more than HK$15,000. But the quality of tune (note: not out of tune) deteriorated significantly within 9 months!!!!! It did not improve even after being tunned by a professional...
You know why 2nd-hand piano is however popular in Japan. Because Japanese businessmen are comparatively more honest.
The Hong Kong buyers just lose confidence on the local traders. So, they go for new ones.
