A plane is observed approaching your home and you assume that its speed is 550 miles per hours. If the angle of elevation of the plane is 16 degree at one time and 57 degree one minute later, approximate the altitude of the plane.

Let the ans. be x,the plane speed = 550/60 miles per minute
(x/sin 56)/sin(180-57) = (550/60)/sin (57-56)
therefore, x=365.2miles
