Should I buy an I pod or a MP3 player for my 18 yr old for Christmas?

How do they work? I dont know what they are.
Target has an I pod in their sale flyer today, and I am trying to decide how much money to spend since my kid has asked for one. How do you decide how much money to spend?

iPods are very unreliable, you would be best to go for a brand other than Apple for an mp3 player.

The nice thing for ipods is they can hold thousandsss of songs and theyre really nice!! But the problem with that is that the batteries of it will die after 400charges. that means that the ipod will be unusable because the rechargable battery iniside will be discharged. You cant replace it on ur own so u have to ship them back to apple.com otherwise if u do it on ur own apple will never fix it for u even if u pay them. so if u want ur kid to have an ipod he'll be able to use that for at least 2years.. whereas an mp3 it depends on the brand. But its cheaper so thats a good thing too. I have an ipod and I love it but i know sometime soon ill buy a new one because ive had it for 2years now.

iPods are the same as MP3's, you download music on them from your computer from places like iTunes. As for depending how much to spend is up to you.

Ipod is a MP3 player :)
Computer formatted song in MP3 format. You can download songs from the Internet and put them to the MP3 player. Ipod comes in different capacity and models. The better = more expensive of course.

Get an Ipod...
Very popular, I'd say it's the most popular music device.

I got the new remastered 2gb Ipod Nano. I think I paid $150 for it.

He'll love it.

An Ipod, they're awesome.
If you don't want to spend a lot on an Ipod, get the nano, which are like $200
