(4) Let mother's weight be . Interpret "of" as multiply, we get36 = w (75%) ==> w = 48
So the difference is 48 - 36 = 12.
(3) is more like an Integrated Science question. Water and alcohol can mix together, and so, in practice, we cannot calculate the volume of water and alcohol separately. But if you think otherwise, you can have
Volume of water = 2500 (1 - 68% - 15%) = 425
