上面資料可見，NOWELL 是其中一種串法，男女都可，但我愚見，始終 NOEL 和 NOELLE 正宗，當然還有其他由此字演變的名字。上面所講的 VARIANTS 已說齊，不再重覆。

我自己就會念 NOR－ EL，用法文音，個 L 要痢尖頂上顎門牙後面，不會念 NOWELL，因太英語。

法文字寫發是Noël，e字上面要有兩點，因為這是寫出o跟e是分開唸的。若果忘記了寫兩點，發音就像「靴」的母音。女子名是Noëlle。

至於唸no-well是否唸錯…… 英文的o在字典也會寫上əʊ（新的字典多寫o，但音值其實一樣），再多加上個ε音，就是三個母音在一起：əʊε。由於中間的是ʊ，是個glide音，在英文有這個情況下會變成個w，方便發音。那麼nəʊεl，就變成nəwεl。我們唸字的是後不是一音一音「彈」出來的，所以唸個glide是沒有問題。唸no（一音）再唸well（另一音），那就不正確，因為多了一個ʊ音。
