Can I combine a 512 MB DDR2 stick with a 256 MB one, assuming that I am going to install them in different memory banks? I know I won't get DualChannel support, but will they combine for 768 MB?
If you have that extra memory slot, and the mother board will support it then yes, check the manual that came with the system, or the motherboard Manuel for more information.
Depends on the make and model of the PC. Some will, so won't. Check the manufacturer's website. (Or just put the chip in, boot and see what happens. At worst, the PC will not boot until you remove the chip).
howdy you ought to be instal in first slot 512 ram becaue in matter of coputer use before each and every thing first slot after that absolutely he seek for for extra ram in case you inster 256 in first slot than your speed will some decelerate in fase of 512 ra m so use 512 in first slot
Gehhhh, I don't know for sure. I don't think it will work if the 256MB is DDR instead of DDR2. But if you combined the two if possible, you have 768 MB DDR. Just keeping 512 MB DDR2 is better than 768 MB DDR.
yes you can use,but be sure that your 256mb RAM is working fine.It is always better to replace it if it is more than a year old because a poor RAM can damage your mother board.check and do
