英漢辭典必須提供讀者每個英文單字「正確而完整」的知識與資料。 印刷、裝訂、紙張的精良與否也是選擇字典時應考慮的。如果是同一辭典、版本愈新的錯誤愈少，當然就愈好。總而 言之，一本好的英漢辭典，不但要有正確的發音、精確的字義、恰當靈活而現代化的例句，還要有正、反義字、句型、用法說 明(這點最重要)、字根、字源、衍生字、使用的體裁等等，也就是必須完整而明確地告訴我們在這一個語言裏如何適當地用一 個字才行。文罄當代英漢辭典就是朝看這個方向編輯而成而又有相當成就的英漢辭典。

首先,你睇既字典係要中文解釋定英文先.除非你一出世係 English native speaker,or你學英文時能排除所有中文,如果唔係買英英字典係冇用,因為你個腦自動translate做中文
oxford果本高階已經夠用,我學校d老師都用佢
conbuild learner's english dictionary係用d比較simple的英文解釋和幾多圖像,同埋會有d collcations同phrasal verbs等
但佢係用英文,advanced就相對深d同多d字

講真,有心去學其實咩字典都冇問題,每日查下字典學下生字已經對英文有幫助

actually, i think it depends on your level and need. basically, 進階 is a common one. however, for me, as i don't want to spend so much money on buying dictionary, i bought the advanced one when i was in secondary school. it's quite useful. the only problem is you may find the expression more difficult to understand and the sample sentences are more complicated.
colbuild dictionary has quite good reputation. some people even say it's better than oxford. an advanced learner's dictionary is just a dictionary but for people whose english foundation is better.
by the way, if you have extra money, i recommend you to take a look at the oxford collocation dict. it's especially useful for writing as it focuses on the use of phrases, etc.
yet, it's only an extra one. don't just buy the collocation one without the typical one.
