城大法律好嗎?

我是城市大學法律學院畢業的...希望我的意見對你有用
當初我選擇大學的時候也有你同樣的憂慮...

沒錯... 港大跟中大的競爭比城大厲害...
在我念完法律學士之後我知道我當初的選擇沒有錯。

只是收生的成績可能比不上港大中大，並不代表城大不是一間好的大學
城大有很多學系， 以創意媒體和法律系收生成績最好，我知道我的同學們的入學成績也不錯。
城大法律學院每年法律學院大概只收60-70法律一年級學生...
每課都是小班教育，跟講師們和同學們都很熟悉... 講師可以更深入的解決每個同學的問題。 同學們跟講師的關係都很好...

城大法律學院的出色處在於與中國法相關的科目和PCLL.... 這些科是業界認同為比港大好的~ 在這幾年法律學院也不斷提升，新增了Juris Doctor 等不同的法律課程。

其實城大法律學院的學生都獲得法律界認同... 我現在也已當上律師。

我想念法律的關鍵在於你自己...師資是重要，但你自己的努力才是最重要！

如果你是想要在香港當律師的話，我建議你回香港念法律學士，因為在不久的將來在外地讀完法律學士的也要有香港重讀很多科目。
但你可以考慮讀完你的社會學學士課程再回來香港讀法律也未晚呀~

城市大學並不是很好的大學
I totally disagree with you. All Hongese know that HKU, Chinese U and CityU are subsidized universities under the Unversities Grant Committee (UGC). HKU and Chinese U are famous because of their long history. It does not mean that the UGC is giving much lesser money to CityU than CUHK and CityU.

城大校風或師資會不會不好
In fact, CityU's Electronic Engineering Department is the biggest in town. It has 10 Chair Professors, 7 Professors and 24 Associates Professors. CityU's Computer Science Dept, Information Systems Department and School of Creative Media are world famous. CityU's Faculty of Business is also biggest in town.

城大法律学院
Law is a traditional subject. History is very import. HKU is much more famous in tradition English Common Law subjects but CityU is much more famous in International Economic Law, WTO Law, Commercial Arbitration and Chinese and Comparative Law. Professor Malanczuk and Professor Wang Guiguo of CityU Law School are world class professors in these areas. Each year the CityU attracks more than 100 students from Mainland China and all over the world to HK to study its LLM. I can tell you HKU even does not offer these areas of studies. It is only famous in traditional English Common Law subjects.

中大法律学院
CUHK Law School is very very new. I have said that Law is a traditional subject. History is very important. So it is wrong to say that CUHK Law School is better than CityU Law School. CityU Law School was established in 1987. It has 19 years history. CUHK Law School has zero year history. In fact, the Dean of CUHK Law School is the former Dean of CityU Law School.

畢業後是否可以申請到好的研究所
Do you want to practise as a solicitor or barrister in HK or wanna to study for a PhD? If you wanna to study for a PhD in Law, it is better to do a non-law undergraduate degree, e.g. in Economics or Sociology. Then you can study for a JD or London U external postgraduate LLB(Hon) degree. Then for a JSD or PhD. It is not advised to do an undergraduate LLB.

唸法律好不好
I do not know whether you are preparing to leave Taiwan for good. You must think very carefully. HK Law is no use in Taiwan and China. The prospect of practising law in HK is no good. In HK, 會計師供不應求. The hotest subject in HK is accountancy, not law Lawyers are super over supplied in HK for long time.

Sociology (in Chinese) and Law (in English) are very different. Why not study psychology, social work or even media and cultural studies at postgraduate? It seems English Literature, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Accountancy, Computer Science or even Biochemistry are more relating.

一向香港只有港大和城大開辦法律課程
中大只是今年才設立法律學院
並只會開辦LLB課程
而中大的PCLL要押後至2008年才能開辦
但仍需審核中大PCLL課程水平才承認畢業生具執業資格
如果你要擔心城大的師資問題
倒不如擔心中大的課程設計及課程銜接問題
始終中大法律學院是新開的
城大法律學院由1988年開始開辦法律課程
如果有問題一早就被專業團體取消畢業生的執業資格

香港的法律制度是採用普通法
但台灣是用大陸法
如果要在香港執業就要在普通法地區讀LLB
所以來港就讀城大的LLB是一個好的選擇

I just heard that it famous at it's BBA Course~~

I think your first choice is more suitable for you~~
