If you are British then you can get a visitor visa at the border for a maximum 90 days under the visa waiver program. The length of time is at the discretion of the border guard but cannot be longer than 90 days. This assumes you do not have a criminal record and that your passport is a biometric passport if issued on or after 26 October 2006 (machine readable if issued before 26 October 2006). If these assumption are incorrect, you need to visit the US embassy to apply for the visa.

YES YOU DO. IT DEPENDS WHAT COUNTRY YOU ARE TRAVELING FROM. MANY U.S. ALLY COUNTRY RESIDENTS NEED VISAS, BUT MANY NON-ALLY COUNTRIES DON'T NEED A VISA. HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THAT?

It all depends on what country you are flying from, what your duration will be in the United States, and what is your business in the USA.

If you are travelling to the US, from the UK, for a duration of 90 days or less, for holiday purposes, then no, you don't require a visa. This is because of the Visa Waiver Scheme that was introduced in 2000, where countries who have signed up to this scheme, enables for members of other countries to fly to other countries without a need for a visa, as long as they have a machine readable passport.

There are over 30 countries that have joined this scheme, and only require for you to a member of a state that is part of the Visa Waiver scheme, that your duration in the desired country is not longer for 90 days and that you are going to the country for pleasure (rather than business- meaning where you are looking to earn money)

No, Singaporeans do not need visas for the US.
You have to however check with the US Embassy in your country.

I think it depends on where you are from and how long you plan to stay.

Where are you coming from?

It depends on which country you're from. For example:
From European Union = No.
From China = Yes.
