With the outbreak of SARS and a plummeting economy, mood disorders have become increasingly prevalent among people in Hong Kong. It is estimated that one in five suffer from some mood disorder, and most patients are not properly diagnosed and treated. The World Health Organization also believes that depression will become the second major killer of city dwellers by the year 2020.
經濟低迷再加上非典型肺炎的來襲，嚴重影響香港人的情緒。現時每五名港人便有一人長期受到不同程度的情緒困擾，當中很大部分並未獲得有效治療。根據世界衛生組織估計，二零二零年抑鬱症將成為都市人的第二號殺手。
