Let the small group is n marblestherefore, the large group is 60-n marbles
As provided,
7n = 3(60-n)
7n = 180-3n
10n = 180
n = 18

x + y = 60, 3x + 3y = 180 -- (a)
7x = 3y, 7x – 3y = 0 -- (b)
(a) + (b),
10x = 180
x = 18
y = 42
