There are stops on the left hand and right hand side. They give the timbre of the instrument. You can choose the sound of trumpet, trombone, violin, flute by pulling out those stops.
There are two keyboards. The upper one is called the swell. The lower one is called the great. If the melody is played by one hand and the accompaniment is played by another, you can play the upper one with your right hand and the lower one with your left hand, or the other way. It gives you two different kinds of sound and it helps you to bring out the melody.
The pedal is exactly like the keyboard. When people play the pedals, the knees touch each other all the time so you can feel which pedal to press.
Organists wear special type of shoes, so they can feel the pedal easily.
