There are 3 defination:

1) Conscious means "AWAKE" (adjective)
=awake, thinking and aware of what is happening around you.

FOR EXAMPLE:
1. He's still conscious but he's fairly badly injured.
2. They've brought her out of the operating theatre, but she's not fully conscious yet.

NOTE: The opposite is unconscious.


2) Conscious means "AWARE OF" (adjective)
=be conscious of sth/sb to be aware of the existence or presence of a particular thing or person:

FOR EXAMPLE:
1. The tooth doesn't exactly hurt, but I'm conscious of it (= I can feel it) all the time.
[+ ing form of verb] I think she's very conscious of being the only person in the office who didn't have a university education.
2. [+ that] He gradually became conscious (of the fact) that everyone else was wearing a suit.


3) Conscious means "INTENTIONAL" (adjective)
=determined and intentional.

FOR EXAMPLE:
1. He's obviously making a conscious effort to be nice to me at the moment.
2. It wasn't a conscious decision to lose weight. It just happened.
