a car uses 1/4 of its petrol on the frist day of a trip.and 1/5 of the rest on the second day.What was the original of petrol in the car if there is 6L of petrol left in the tank?

let xL be the originalx-x(1/4)-x(3/4)(1/5)=6
3x/5=6
x=10
∴the original is 10L

y=rest on the frist day
frist day: y= x- (1/4)*x = (1-1/4)x and
second day: (1-1/5)y=6
so
(1-1/5)(1-1/4)*x=6
(4/5)*(3/4)*x = 6
x=10
y=rest on the frist day
frist day: y= x- (1/4)*x = (1-1/4)x and
second day: (1-1/5)y=6
so
(1-1/5)(1-1/4)*x=6
(4/5)*(3/4)*x = 6
x=10
