base = alkaline = 碱 or pH value larger than pH 7 ( pH max value is 14).

Base is chemicals that can react with acids to form salt & water only.
e.g. HCl + NaOH = NaCl + H2O
Alkali is a kind of base, but a chemical is a base does not mean that it is alkaline.
e.g. CuO, Cu(OH)2

base 唔等於alkali, 係 dissolve 得係水先叫alkali, base係指ph>7ge substance
