The panda's black and white colour camouflages it when it moves across the snow, so predators cannot see it easily. Pandas can climb treesquickly and can swim to escape from predators. Ther can run across ice because they have small hairs under their feet. These small hairs help to stop them from falling on the ice. Pandas have a special finger near their thumb. This finger helps them to hold the bamboo when they eat. Pandas live in thick forests in Central and Western China.They live about 2,500-4,000feet up in the mountains, in the mist and rain covered forests.
