Houseman or intern 實習醫生 Not yet fully registered 註冊 是臨時註冊, 不能寫病假

Resident or Medical officer 正式註冊的醫生

Senior medical officer 高級醫生 , 舊制 or associate consultant 副 顧問醫生

Consultant 顧問醫生


Resident or Medical officer may not be specialist 專科醫生. They may be under- training to be a specialist. They may be called resident trainee internally by doctors
If resident is a specialist, they are resident specialist internally by doctors


All senior medical officers, associate consultant, consultants are specialists



After 1 year internalship 實習, it takes another 6 - 10 years for a new graduate to become a specialist.
