piece 定係 pieces

a pieces of cake 是錯的
正確的有:
a piece of cake (指單數的cake)
two pieces of cake (指眾數的cake)
pieces of cake (指眾數的cake)
如要描述 uncountable noun (eg: water, coffee) 的數量時
因為該物件不可數, 需要加一個量詞 (quantifier) eg: a glass of water, a cup of coffee
而量詞是有 singular and plural form 之分的
句中的 piece 便是量詞, 用於描述數量

當你指的數量是一件的, 量詞也需要是 singular form (即 piece)
當你指的數量是多於一件的(眾數), 量詞便 需要是 plural form (即 pieces)

另外如不用 a piece of cake
可用 a slice of cake
即一片片的蛋糕

補充一句 a pieces of cake 就是自相矛盾(數量描述上)因 a 指單數 而 pieces 指眾數
