I consider the question in your statement may not be correct.
Actually, it have be proved that the probability of finding a prime over the set of all natural numbers is a {constant} and is greater than zero!!!
This means that the gap between two consecutive primes will not always go larger than previous one, otherwise we will expect that the probability must be zero.
However, it is observed that the length of the largest gap is increasing as the number of primes increase.
