I. DESCRIPTION:
The green tree pit viper is uniform bright or dull green with light yellow on its lips.
It grows to 18 to 30 inches in length.
II. GEOGRAPHICAL RANGE AND HABITAT:
The green tree pit viper's range includes India, Myanmar, Malaya, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Indonesia and Formosa.
It inhabits dense rain forests and plantations.
III. DIET:
The pit viper feeds on young birds, lizards and tree frogs.
IV. LIFE CYCLE/SOCIAL STRUCTURE:
The species is primarily arboreal.
The pit viper usually bites prey occur on the head, shoulder or neck, which increases mortality.
