actually they are very much the same!
there is variance between each test (both in tofel and ielts)

if the mark you get in tofel is not very good, you should retake it

OR

you can try ielts

*but, please note that the marks only valid for 2 years.

i think both are accetpable for applying a colleagues either in oversea or for local colleagues. of course, it is not popular to take ielts than tofel now!
