although I don't why there is no "x" &"y" in the question, I let $a=x, $b=y.2y-3x=4
2y=3x+4
y=(3x+4)/2--------a
24x-6y=48
4x-y=8
y=4x-8-----------b
a=b
(3x+4)/2=4x-8
3x+4=8x-16
5x=20
x=4
