There should be a pair of 15X4 mm sockets on you motherboard, ( should look the same as the socket on the SATA HD) or go to internet and chec your mother board's spec to see if it support. Also you should have spare a flat thin (10-15mm)cable with a funny rectangular plug on its end.

Plug the above mention cable to the MB and the SATAHD, get a SATA HD power cable converter the turn on your PC , your PC will see a new HD.

Yes la any size you like Iport one HD/ some card have 4 ports la. Do not buy the one with RAID function more expensive unless you need RAID function la.
我有隻cd driver.IDE同sata一齊用會吾會有衝突.張卡使吾使重裝window先用到.
Usually do not need reinstall la. SATA and IDE are connected separately

CPU and ram not important my 1.6G can connect 6 HD (4IDE+ 2SATA) using Via M800 chip set 3000Gb (6x500Gb)
My other one use Intel 875 and can connect 10 HD 5000G to it.
And those are not the max allow yet.

You should go check your motherboard menu and see your motherboard support to 200gb harddrive, but I can tell you the answer is yes because I have a lower end computer than yours and I am using a 250Gb harddrive, til the end it all depends which motherboard you have. Also you have to look into your motherboard or motherboard menu is does your motherboard have any plug for SATE, if there is you don't need to buy any PCI to SATA adapter(most common), if no then you need. And IDE and SATA can use together and they won't crash or conflict. Your computer will just see it another harddrive and that's it. Lasty, normally you don't have to re-install your operating system, however, you might need to install the harddrive driver in order to make it to work and is all depend which brand and model of harddrive you buy.

P.S. Sometimes you may need to update your bios but once again it depends on which motherboard you using. Hopefully you find this information useful.
