The truth of this is made important for the white race by the fact that it composes but one third of the population of this closely knit world.
請問 composes 這裡作何解 ?

正如有個名人講, 這個年代沒有一個國家可以獨善其生,這個事實令白種人變得重要,(that it composes 唔知點解),但有三分一世界人口是緊密在一起.

compose 解"佔"，"組成"．
第２句係解：這句說話對白種人含有重要的真實性，因為白種人(句子裡的it是指白種人呢個種族)佔這個緊密連繫既世界上三分之一．
