Something about Surrey-UK

I have a year in Guildford, Surrey.

Transportation: Depends on how your go there.
Supposed you want to go to Guildford.
There is frequent train (every half-hour) from London to Guildford, depends on the time to travel, the non-peak hour price is around 8 ponds (serveral year ago) for a return ticket.
There is no direct travel from Heathrow to Guildford. You need to take bus to Woking for train.
The taxi fare from Heathrow is around 60 pounds. However, you can call the taxi company in Guildford if you know the number. The fare is only 25-30 pounds. I always use this method.

Accomodation:
Do you want to stay for long for just vocation?
There is Youth Hostel / YMCA in Guildford. Price is slightly cheaper than in London.

Weather:
Winter in Dec and it is similar to London.
Around 10C. The coldest time should be Jan & Feb.
It is quite dry in winter, remember to bring lotion.
The temperature difference is quite large. It can be 12C under sun light and 2C at night.
Nearly all indoor area have heating system. You only need to concern the outdoor time.

Surrey is a nice & peaceful place. I like it. Some ppl think it is bored as nothing to play.

It is very cold in December, around 2 to 8C.
Surrey--- lots of places in Surrey, Guildford, Tonbridge Wells. these two are big towns.
Please check with British Council in Hong Kong for good schools in Surrey.
Surrey is a good place to live at. The University of Surrey is in Guildford.
You have to take a train from Waterloo Station to places in Surrey. the fares will depend on the places you are going. If it is within Greater London, you only have to pay about £6.30 (travel card prices----a ticket that you can go anywhere within zones 1 to 6 in a whole day) But if it is outside Greater London, the cheapest for a return journey will be over £10. Children under 16 will be half price,( but not sure if children's price is only £1 if going with an adult on underground)

Whic city/town do you wish to go in Surry?
Surrey is really close to London anyway, so just take within 1 hour train should reach almost of the city/town, and the weather is similar to London as well. For the accomodation, all depens on how much you can afford, 豐檢由人。
