1.let original class have Y students,(Y + 20 )/4 = 16
Y+20=4*16
Y+20=64
Y=64-20
Y=44
so original class have 44 students
2.Nicholas originally have $X
40-10 =X +10
30 =X +10
X=30-10
X=20
so Nicholas originally have $20
