Honorary Doctors wear a gown of Purple silk. The colour of the hood, the tassel on the soft Purple silk bonnet and the front facings of the gown are the same which distinguishes the discipline.

Doctor of Philosophy / Professional Doctor

Black gown with Black velvet front facings and bell-shaped sleeves with three velvet chevrons, hood edged with wide Dark Blue velvet band and lined with Gold and Green satin for Doctor of Philosophy and sky blue satin for Professional Doctor; and a soft Black bonnet with Gold tassels.

Master of Philosophy

Black gown with Black velvet front facings, hood edged with a wide Dark Blue velvet band and lined with Red and Green satin, and a Black mortarboard cap.
Master / Bachelor Degrees

Black gown and mortarboard cap; the Master's hood is silk edged with a Dark Blue velvet band and the Bachelor's is silk-edged. The colour of the hood edge and lining distinguishes the discipline.
Other academic awards

cityu 唔係用 faculty 分色的﹐係用 title

好似 science grad, 係紫帶啦﹐但係讀 EF 又係 紫色﹐因為都係 B.Sc 丫嘛
而海藍是 BSW, 不是 B.Soc.Sc;
BSW 是社工﹐BASW 也是社工﹐但 BASW 就用藍帶,因 title 是 BA, 即使兩者是
同一 department!

Master 其實同 bachelor 差不多﹐不過係底面色反轉用﹐不過其實有好多
bridging courses, 或合辦課程﹐ d 色唔同不單止﹐色帶粗幼﹐形狀等都不同。

A Black gown with facing in the designated Faculty/School colour: FAST - Yellow; FB - Purple; FCOM - Blue; FCLU - Maroon;
FENG - Red; FHSS - Green; SD - Aquamarine; SHTM - Orange; SPEED - Brown

基本上學士及碩士畢業袍也以黑色為主色，但袍及禮帽的設計則每間學校也有不同（單單是香港幾間大學也有差異）
【當然啦，學士袍跟碩士袍是不同設計的，但它們基本上亦是甚麼學院便用甚麼色帶】

至於那道顏色帶子，則是代表該學生畢業於甚麼學院／學系，

每間大學也有自己的顏色體系，以中大為例：

米黃色代表文學院
銀白色代表商學院
粉藍色代表教育學院
黃色代表工程學院
綠色代表社會科學院
棗紅色代表醫學院
紫色代表理學院

至於博士袍，亦是每間大學的設計不同，有些是紅色的，有些是雜色的，帽子的設計亦較特別－－你知啦，要讀到博士畢業的確不易，也可算是一種成就吧
