A traveling bag can hold weights less than 10 kg. Ming uses the bag to carry n dolls and 1 fiction. Each doll weights 0.2kg on average, and the fiction weights 500 g.
a)use an inequality to represent the above situation.
0.2n + 0.5 < 10

b)at most how many dolls can Ming carry
0.2n + 0.5 < 10
0.2n < 9.5
n < 9.5 / 0.2
n < 47.5
use integer
n ≦ 47
at most 47 dolls can Ming carry

c) Suppose Ming can hold weights less than 8 kg, and he needs to carry 3 more fictions. use an inequality to represent this situation.
suppose Ming carry m fictions so
0.2n + 0.5m < 8
and
m ≧ 3

d) under the situation stated on(c), if the value of n is greater than 31, find n.
0.2n + 0.5m < 8
0.2n < 8 – 0.5m
0.2n < 8 – 1.5
0.2n < 6.5
n ≦ 32 (Get interger)
