D端子即Digital（數字）的意思，是目前最前衛的視頻介面端子，它採用了類似電腦的多針D型插接頭，用來直接傳輸數位影像信號，根據傳輸數位信號的規格不同，D端子已經形成了一個系列的型號。目前有D1、D2、D3、D4、D5，系列序號越高，傳輸資料的規格越高。 今後，將應用到D5端子，可以用來連接更高規格的1080P的逐行掃描影像。D端子是主要為提高畫面觀賞品質的連接介面標準，是透過處理晶片將DVD影片的訊號處理成符合D端子(D-link)傳輸的數碼訊號，透過播放設備達到提升影像的目的。

HDMI介面號稱下世紀國際數位電視的標準規格「High-Definition Multimedia Interface(HDMI)」是於2002年12月9日由HDMI Founders(HDMI論壇)確認 High-Defenition Multimedia Interface Specification Version 1.0 的規格。Pioneere更在2003年10月18日推出世界首款HDMI DVD播放機DV-S969AVi-N，現在HDMI介面幾乎就是發燒級的代表。

HDMI Founders(HDMI論壇)由 日立製作、松下電器、Royal Philips、Silicon Image、Sony、Thomson、東芝等七家國際級家電大廠組成。HDMI 以DVI為基礎但提供更高的頻寬，最高頻寬為5Gbit/Sec，目前最高畫質的HDTV僅需要2Gbit/Sec，還有很大的預留量給將來可能的更高標準的數位信號。並加入了HDCP版權保護 機制的同時增加了數位音頻傳輸，從而成為專用的多媒體資訊介面。HDMI支援1920*1080P高清晰數位信號，並支援Dolby Digital/DTS數位音頻格式。

HDMI同時橫跨PC與家電，支援EDID、DDC2B，因此具有HDMI的設備具有[ 隨插即用 ]的特點，信號源和顯示設備之間會自動進行[ 溝通 ]，自動選擇最合適的視訊/音訊格式。

D interface means digital interface, which can include Optical Fibre, Coaxial, DVI and HDMI interfaces. D interfaces transmit digital signal, which can be audio, video, or audio and video signal from one device to another, while analogue interfaces transmit analogue signal.. Optical, coaxial and DVI transmit only audio signal. HDMI interface, the latest version, can transmit both audio and video signal. HDMI is one of digital intefaces. It means High Definition Multidemdia Interface. It can transmit very high volume of signal so it defeats traditional analogue and digital interfaces.

Component interface is a better way to transmit video signal by separately transmit analogue signal by three cables at the same time. Some people think that it is not good as HDMI interface since by transferring analogue signal, signal loss will occur and degrade with length. However, some other think that it is better because of it is less digitise and hence gives you more natural colors. So it is really up to your taste. For S-video, it is also an analogue interface but it is not worse than Component interface.

For your LCD TV, the 5 AV Interfaces, they are Component Interface (Green, Blue and RED for video transmission) and analogue audio interface (White & Red for left and right audio transmission).
