By Newton's Law of gravitation,
W= Gm1m2/R^2
where W and m1 are the weight and the mass of the object respectively.
m2 and R are the mass of the Earth and the distance between the object and the centre of the Earth respectively.
The value of G = 6.67x 10^ -11 ( N*m^2*kg^ -2)
m2=5.98 x 10^24 (kg)
R =6.38x 10^6 (m) + h ( height of object from the Earth's surface) (m)
By calculation ,
W= m1g= Gm1m2/R^2
so , cancelling m1 , g = Gm2/R^2= 9.799 = 9.8 m/s^2
