shipment delay

have you checked with the website of shipping line? go to shipping company website and key in container number, you will immediately know the routing of the container and update information of where it is. usually it will show: From xiamen (for eg.) ETD...to Singapore ETA: vessel's name.... Singapore(ETD) to Canada(ETA) vessel's name. if the website showing the connecting vessel's name, you can tell customer accordingly. if no vessel's name then ask shipping company at the loading port the reason.

tell your customer: We have ben advised by shipping company due to many cargoes stuck in singapore for transhipment, the container cannot get onto the vessel which is scheduled to leave on ...... and it was planned to leave by the coming vessel:..... ETD..... we will keep contact with shipping line to make sure container will leave on time. sorry for the inconvenience caused.
