Let n-1, n , n+1 be the three consecutive numbers
n-1 the smallest number
n the middle number
n+1 the largest number
As: the smallest number is 19/20 of the largest number
n-1 = 19/20 (n+1)
20(n-1) = 19(n+1)
20n-20 = 19n+19
20n-19n = 20+19
n = 39
So: the middle number n = 39
n-1 the smallest number
n the middle number
n+1 the largest number
As: the smallest number is 19/20 of the largest number
n-1 = 19/20 (n+1)
20(n-1) = 19(n+1)
20n-20 = 19n+19
20n-19n = 20+19
n = 39
So: the middle number n = 39
