A lot of people are curious about who might be this "Elice" from Beethoven's Fur Elice (Allemande). One of the myths is that Elice was one of the many students of Beethoven. Beethoven wrote this piece in order to express his love for her, though Elice rejected his marriage proposal. So in conclusion: Beethoven remained single all his life.
The original manuscript of Fur Elice was only unearthed in Munich 40 years after Beethoven's death, now belongs to (insert name here, I don't know the English name of this person). It was written on the manuscript "Fuer Elice, 27th April - A beautiful memory. L.V.Beethoven" (You have to check to true translation of the sentence and Beethoven's real initial!). So (諾爾), expert on Beethoven's music and life copied down the sentence and published it later along with the music.
As a result, the search for Elice begun. However, the name was unexpectly rare - if it was a little girl, it was an old lady. Another Beethoven expert (insert name here) believed that the name should had been (泰麗絲 - I really don't know what this is!). It was 諾爾 who thought it might had been "Elice" due to Beethoven's unlegible handwriting. And this was proved to be correct.
Amongst the many students of Beethoven, there was an attractive pianist named 泰麗絲‧凡‧馬爾伐提. In May, 181?, Beethoven asked for her hand in marriage - the piece was written just before he proposed to her in order to remember the moment. He was 39, she was 18 - and it was a tragic ending.
Hope that helps. Please people, DO NOT use those translating software!! Just read out what u've posted!
