After the reclamation works of 1855 and the 1920s,the boundary of Causeway Bay was extened considerably.In the late 19th and early 20th centuries,Bowrington and Causeway Bay replaced Wan Chai as the main industrail area .In the pre-war years,numerous well-know factories such as the Chna Sugar Refining Compang, the Hong Kong Cotton Spinning ,Weaving and Dyeing Company and the Hong Kong Ice Company were located at Causeway Bay.

在1855年和1920年代的填海工程結束後，銅鑼灣的界線延長了不少。在19世紀末至20世紀初期，灣仔主要工業地區的角色已被布靈頓和銅鑼灣取替。在戰前時, 很多知名工廠如中國食糖提煉公司、香港棉料紡紗、紡織和布染公司及香港冰務公司都有在銅鑼灣設置工廠。

經過1855年及1920年的填海工程,銅鑼灣所佔的面積大幅增加, 在19世紀初及20世紀末, 寶靈頓及銅鑼灣更取代柴灣成為本港重要的工業地區. 在戰前, 不少聞名的公司例如中國煉糖公司, 香港棉紡,編織及漂染公司和香港雪廠公司亦在銅鑼灣設廠.
