Speculation is not hard to understand, and there are a lot of detailed definition so i am not going to spend to much time on explaining what it is...
Actually, Speculation involves a lot of risks, it is a peoples' expectation to the future. Some may hold a good view in the future but some may not, since it has uncertainty---people are not actually know how it turns out, in other words, it is very risky....because none of us will know the exect outcome until it is finally turned out.
"Bull" are people holding a good view in future, "Bear" are people holding a negative view in future. Since they hold different view...and the market will either go up or down, so sometimes, Bull gain but sometimes, they lose......
There is no mean to tell us the exect future...so we are just guessing what it is and hopefully we are correct so we can get money.... a very good example is the HSI Future,
when HSI was about 18000 last week, all the people think that the market must be down....but finally in this week, the index reaches 19000....who knows about the future? nobody does. It is speculation.....
