D+ D- P 1 2 3 N L ball the meaning

D+ and D-: Up-shift and down-shift in +/- gear model
P: Parking, use it when you park and leave your car
N: Neutral, gear is not engaged. So the car does not move when you press gas pedal.
L: Low gear, usually mean to use 1st gear in Automatic gearbox
1: Use only 1st gear in Automatic gearbox
2: Use only 1st and 2nd gear in Automatic gearbox
3: Use only 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear in Automatic gearbox
Usually there is a "D" mode, the car uses all available gears to drive.
